Brooks Headshot.jpg

Brooks Hanewich

Over the past 15 years Brooks dedicated himself to the work of rebuilding inequitable systems that leave certain demographic populations isolated, marginalized, and without access to important resources vital to living successfully (pulled from this definition of CED). Did you find that sentence full of jargon and had to re-read it to understand what it says? Yes? Well then welcome to the world of the social economy.. Consider yourself knighted into this world.

In all seriousness though, Brooks has worked in the sector of making our community systems more equitable for everyone. He has focused his time on economic and workforce development, social innovation, and social enterprise. He’s excited to create an ecosystem that can support all those with big ambitions to make the world a better place.

Matt is a passionate business professional and community leader in the Social Sector of Alberta with extensive expertise in social entrepreneurship, social financing, and impact strategy and management. He holds a BA in International Relations, and an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Calgary.

An active Rotarian of Calgary Heritage Park, and Board Member of Downstage Theater you’ll find Matt volunteering his time supporting the non-profit sector of Calgary. When Matt isn’t volunteering his free time, he enjoys traveling, soccer, and playing board games.
